SAVE THE DATE - TASTE 2010 on April 22, 2010 at Root Division!
ROOT DIVISION PRESENTS "TASTE 2010: A Garden of Earthly Delights"
CULINARY & VISUAL ARTISTS INDULGE THE SENSES IN AN EXCLUSIVE FOOD & ART EVENT

On Thursday, April 22, Root Division will host TASTE 2010, a unique and sumptuous evening celebrating the beauty of art & food in San Francisco. TASTE 2010 will feature 8-10 acclaimed local chefs, 16-20 visual artists, and live music, for a night of inspired food, drink, art, & music. This event presents guests with daring culinary delights and a visual feast, joining them together in glorious form onsite in Root Division's gallery & studios. As this year’s event coincides with the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the theme -- A Garden of Earthly Delights --reminds us to celebrate the Earth’s bounty & springtime abundance.

Other offerings at the event include a Silent Auction of gift certificates from Bay Area restaurants, spas, salons, & other venues and small artworks by local emerging artists. Guests will also have the opportunity to win the raffled Wine Chest, a collection of over 50 bottles of one-of-a-kind artist-decorated & collector’s choice wines! A limited number of VIP tickets will be available, offering a private and advanced opportunity to experience TASTE 2010 at its fullest. In addition to early access to appetizers, artwork, & specialty cocktails, each VIP ticket includes a special cooking demonstration & tasting by a featured chef, a veggie carving demo by Food Network Gold Medalist Chef Ray Duey, and a limited edition screen-printed bag filled with goodies and gifts from various venues around town. Get your ticket now! Proceeds benefit Root Division’s free after school art classes for Bay Area youth as well as local emerging artists.

ABOUT ROOT DIVISION:
Root Division is an arts and arts education non-profit located in the Mission District of San Francisco. Root Division's mission is to improve appreciation and access to the visual arts by connecting personal inspiration and community participation. We provide subsidized studio space to working artists in exchange for their service in creating shared learning opportunities for the community. Artists develop creatively and professionally by teaching art to underserved youth, leading adult education classes, and producing exhibitions that showcase local emerging artwork. By combining multiple opportunities for creative exchange, Root Division cultivates an artistic ecosystem that enriches life throughout the Bay Area.

Root Division is supported in part by grants from Grants for the Arts: SF Hotel Tax Fund & Voluntary Arts Contribution Fund, The San Francisco Foundation, Walter & Elise Haas Fund, and the Potrero Nuevo Fund. The Second Saturday Exhibition Series is sponsored by the Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation, the San Francisco Arts Commission through a Cultural Equity Grant/Organizational Project Grant, the Fleishhacker Foundation, and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.
