Mixed Media (for students entering Grades 3-5)

This class will focus on creating art projects that use a variety of media and techniques. The theme of the projects will be based on student explorations of their homes, neighborhoods, & other surroundings and will be the basis for visual storytelling.

Drawing & Painting (for students entering Grades 6-8)
Instructor: Angie Crabtree (BFA)
Dates: 5 class meetings / Mon-Fri, July 23-27
Time: 2:00 – 5:30pm

In this class students will create drawings and paintings based on collected and/or collaged photographs. Students will learn how to: create strong compositions; use a variety of drawing/ painting techniques; use a transfer grid; and explore identity through art-making.

*re:Told is an exhibition & storytelling event presenting visual and literary artists whose work examines identity through personal, familial, and cultural histories. The exhibition will be on view in the gallery from July 11-28.
