Design Internship
Root Division is seeking a Design Intern with a focus on graphic design & media. This intern will support Root Division staff with advancing the visibility of core programming and will work closely with the Marketing & Design Manager. This individual will gain valuable experience in design that will be supported by an ongoing work and learning from design projects.
General Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and interest in learning
- Works well independently and with a team
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Familiarity with Mac computers
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic administrative skills
Intern Job Description and Tasks:
- Assist in designing flyers, postcards, invitations, and other visual resources for events, classes, and other organizational needs
- Photography & video documentation and digitization of Root Division programs and events
Desired Qualifications Specific to this Internship:
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Familiarity with Google Photos uploading and organizing
- DSLR & flash Photography skills
- Video shooting & editing skills
- Knowledge of Hoot Suite a plus
- Some prior marketing a plus
Desired Availability (10-12 hours / week):
- 1 - 2 shifts selected from Mondays - Fridays, between 11 AM - 6 PM
- Exhibition opening support (each 2nd Saturday evening / month)
