Root Division events give emerging artists the space and forum to show fresh, inspired and excellent work in a thoughtful and approachable surrounding. Our Installations Intern will work directly with the Art Programs Director and Outreach & Programs Assistant to make this happen. This individual will gain insight into the curatorial process, as well as knowledge and experience in all aspects of putting together successful exhibitions.

General Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and interest in learning
  • Works well independently and with a team
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)

Intern Job Description and Tasks:

  • Receiving and organizing submissions of artwork for exhibitions
  • Support installation and maintenance of exhibitions and compile related presentation materials
  • Art handling and documentation
  • Help setting up / working at events / exhibitions, including 2nd Saturday events
  • Other general support for events and exhibitions

Desired Qualifications Specific to this Internship:

  • Comfortable with tasks that involve tidying / organizing the exhibition space and related storage

Desired Availability (10 hours / week):

  • 1 - 2 shifts Mondays and/or Tuesdays, between 11 AM - 6 PM
  • Exhibition opening support (each 2nd Saturday evening / month)
