Root Division has many facets and serves a multitude of constituents. We are looking for an individual to help strengthen current ties with our local community, while simultaneously developing new relationships. The Organizational Intern will work with the Executive Director and Program Staff on a variety of tasks and projects to help support the organization as a whole. This is a great opportunity to be involved in the inner workings of a small art non-profit.

General Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude and interest in learning
  • Works well independently and with a team
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Familiarity with Mac computers
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic administrative skills

Intern Job Description and Tasks:

  • Miscellaneous program support for Studios, Education, and Exhibitions with tasks including but limited to: compiling submissions, posting opportunities, and supporting logistics for classes, exhibits, and other arts programming
  • Outreach to neighborhood, community, cultural, and arts organizations
  • Contact database development / management
  • Help setting up / working at events and exhibitions, including 2nd Saturday events
  • Assisting with fundraising events and planning
  • Administrative assistance and file management

Desired Qualifications Specific to this Internship:

  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous admin or development support experience a plus

Desired Availability (10-12 hours / week):

  • 1 - 2 shifts selected from Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays, between 11 am - 6 pm
  • Exhibition opening support (each 2nd Saturday evening / month)
