Sherwin Rio
Exhibitions Fellow
Sherwin Rio is an artist/curator expected to receive the dual Master of Arts in Exhibitions & Museum Studies and Master of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2019. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking with a minor in Art History from the University of Florida in 2014. Outside of overseeing the Frank-Ratchye Studio Artist Project Space and Root Division Talks blog as Root Division’s Exhibitions Fellow, Sherwin co-directs the Diego Rivera Gallery at SFAI, holds an internship with the Carlos Villa Estate, and works as an assistant in the Graduate Operations and Exhibitions departments at SFAI. He recently received the San Francisco Foundation’s 2017 Jack K. & Gertrude Murphy Fellowship Award and the 2018 Ella King Torrey Award for Innovation & Excellence in the Arts.
