Teach with Adult Education at Root Division this Fall!
Root Division is looking for instructors who want to teach in our Adult Education Program during the Fall Season (September-December)
We are looking for proposals that explore a range of subjects and mediums, from photography, to figure drawing, to screen printing, and more!

HOW TO APPLY:
Interested art instructors should submit the Digital Application Form and upload required documents as PDFs and images as JPGs. We will review all completed forms and follow up with the submissions that we are interested in offering this upcoming FALL season on the week of September 8th. If you have trouble uploading documents to the form you can email them to classes@rootdivision.org
Completed Online Applications should include the following:
- Proposed classes info. (including materials list, if possible)
- Current Resume / CV (including name and contact info.)
- Examples of past teaching projects
- 2-3 class sample images
If your proposal is accepted, the Education Program Manager will follow up with you during the week of September 8th via email to set preferred dates, time and duration, as well as to review and finalize the class information before it is added to the website in September.
The instructor will be required to complete an in-person orientation at least two weeks prior to the start of the class, where they will go through the facilities, contract, safety guidelines, code of conduct, and signed W9. Root Division will promote classes on their social media platforms, and newsletters. Instructors will also be expected to promote and share class details on their own social media, newsletter and other networks.
Compensation
Instructors are paid hourly, with all new instructors starting at $40/hr. Instructors are also paid $20/hr for 1 hour of prep + cleanup per week. New instructors are also paid for the 1 hour orientation.
Duration of Classes
Classes’ duration can vary depending on each class. Classes range from one-day workshops (3hrs) to multi-week sessions (2 hrs per session for a maximum of 6 weeks). Generally, classes are scheduled during weeknights between 6:30-9:30pm, and weekends from 10am-5pm.
