This 4-session class will meet onsite at Root Division on Thursday evenings on 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, and 11/19 from 6:30-8:30 PM.
Build a sustainable sketchbook habit while learning the fundamentals of gouache. Through approachable weekly exercises, you’ll explore color, shape, texture, and composition by painting everyday subjects like plants, food, objects, and simple landscapes. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a relaxed, creative practice.

About the instructor: Ariel Rivera is an artist, writer, and painting instructor based in San Francisco. Her work explores the ways the natural world and the inner human journey reflect one another. Transfer Your Seat: If you are unable to attend, you may send a friend in your place! Please contact the host with their name at least 2 hours before class begins.
