Matthew Davis

Bio

Matthew Davis (b. 1990) is an architect, scavenger, and sculptor. He is the director of Davis Architecture and Design (DAD) and faculty at Academy of Art University School of Architecture. He received his M.Arch from Columbia University GSAPP and B.A.S. from the University of Waterloo. Matthew has exhibited in Canada, Belgium, and the United States. Artist Statement

Matthew’s art practice finds its foundation, or rather lack thereof, from the paradoxes between building materials, found objects, maquettes, and collages. He sees objects as buildings and buildings as objects. As a collector, his work explores multiple mediums to build object-meaning through peculiar visual and sometimes textual narratives.
