Samuel Cortez

Samuel Cortez is an artist and educator living and working in San Francisco. He has been the recipient of the Latino Teaching Artist Fellow at Root Division since 2013. He received a BFA from the University of Delaware in 2011 and a MFA in sculpture from Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University-Perdue University Indianapolis in 2013. His work has been showcase is venues such as; The Queens Museum, Syracuse University, SOMArts, Galeria de la Raza, Normal University Taipei, Townson University, New Wilmington Art Association, Arch at Chatham Gallery, Old City Hall Building - Indianapolis, IN, among others. Cortez currently teaches at Lick-Wilmerding High School.
