Artist Reception: Cian Dayrit at Root Division

Artist Reception: Cian Dayrit
Thursday, Dec 5, 5:30-7:00 pm

Please join us for a conversation and artist reception with Philippine-based artist Cian Dayrit.  Known globally for artworks rooted in activism and a thorough study of history, Dayrit investigates notions of power and identity as represented in monuments, museums, and maps. His work unravels the layering of complex power structures, oppressive systems, and legacies of colonialism in the Philippines and beyond. Liberties Were Taken, Dayrit’s first solo exhibition in the West Coast will open at Root Division in January 2025.
