Venue: 1131 Mission Street
Learn how to paint and create large-scale signs and graphics for murals, interior decor, signs, posters, banners, and other indoor painting applications. In this workshop students will be introduced to the process of hand lettering with a flat brush and working with water based media (such as tempera, gouache, and acrylic) to create large scale hand-painted signs and graphics. We will cover the basics of working with one stroke lettering brushes, mahl stick/bridge methods for added painting support, in addition to working with patterns and overhead projectors for precise super graphics. Through lecture, demonstration, and hands on approach, students will gain a fundamental understanding of the tools and techniques associated with sign painting and mural painting.
