Brush Lettering Workshop: Sign Painter Casual
The sign painter’s casual script is a staple in every sign writer’s repertoire, although it takes many years to truly master, it’s fun and enjoyable right from the start. Join me in this workshop where I will demonstrate some of the fundamental techniques to brush letter this casual style script and learn how to integrate it into a variety of projects (from zines, posters, handmade books, and paintings).
The casual script as described by sign painter’s Dave Correll and Pierre Tardif is a sign painter’s best friend, “not only can you knock out signs, banners, and showcards, the casual once perfected can be recognized as the sign painter’s signature, it’s an expression of their personality.”
Goals of the class:
- Drawing to understand the construction of the letterforms
- Brush letter a complete alphabet
- Create variation (Bold, Standing-Upright, Extended, Script)
A materials list will be provided upon registration.
