This two-session in-person class is an introductory course for sewing techniques. This includes the basics of hand sewing, such as a running stitch, an invisible stitch, and how to stitch buttons. You will also learn the basics of using a sewing machine for practical applications such as repairs, alterations, and upcycling. It is encouraged to bring a personal item (such as a tote bag, a garment, or found fabric), as part of the class will be about upcycling an item. Some basic supplies are included in the course fee, however, an additional materials list will be provided upon registration. Please note: This class will occur in person at Root Division, located at 1131 Mission Street in SF.
