Embroidery Workshop B
Have you ever wanted to create fiber art or to customize your clothing and linens? In this workshop, you will learn classic and experimental hand sewing techniques to create drawings in thread. We will learn how to successfully sew several different embroidery stitches that will create unique surfaces, lines, and texture. While this is a beginner class and we will start with basic stitches, more advanced stitchers will have the opportunity to learn complicated stitches, including running stitch, backstitch, whipped back stitch, blanket stitch, satin stitch, and french knot. Students will be taught how to finish their work, which includes mounting and framing. All materials will be provided and everyone will take home their project, some extra thread and needles, an embroidery hoop, and a stitch instruction packet for later reference.
