Intro to Oil Painting Workshop
In this workshop, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of oil painting. Beginners are welcome! The workshop will explore color, technique, mark-making, composition, and personal style. Each student will leave with a greater familiarity with the medium and hopefully a taste for the seductive nature of paint. Basic materials will be provided, but students should plan to bring along: one small canvas (11 x 14 or 16 x 20), two to three brushes of different sizes, a glass jar with a lid, and oil paints in: titanium white, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, and ultramarine blue.
