Venue: 1131 Mission Street
Shibori and Indigo Workshop
Dive into a world of blue with a workshop on the ancient craft of shibori. Learn simple resist dyeing techniques to create a variety of patterns with indigo. Walk away with a new skill and beautiful hand-dyed cloth that you can fashion into napkins, scarves, pillows or whatever you fancy. All materials will be provided including 2 yards of fabric per participant. Folks are welcome to bring their own 100% natural fabrics to dye, such as cotton or silk. If bringing your own fabric, please avoid yarn and bulky fabrics (towels, drapery, bedding, etc.). All levels welcome and no dyeing experience necessary! Lastly, dress for a little mess. This is a hands-on indigo class so please where something you’re comfortable to dye in and close-toed shoes.
