Portrait Painting
This workshop is designed for students at all levels that are interested in exploring portrait drawing and painting. Students will begin by learning the fundamentals of the anatomy of the head, how to create form and recognize the planes of the head in a charcoal drawing. In day two, students will learn how to manipulate oil paint by exploring a limited palette that provides the perfect base for accurate tones and likeness. Students will then explore the process of creating of self portraits, working with a mirror and photographs. Basic materials are provided and a short additional materials list sent out upon registration. All experience levels welcome!
