Recollection/ Recolección

The Frank Ratchye Project Space is pleased to present Recollection/ Recolección, a solo exhibition by Root Division Studio Artist Brian Anthony López Romero (yNoT).

In this new body of work, Recollection/ Recolección brings together a collection of memories, familiar narratives, and personal histories, revealing what it means to reconnect with cultural heritage while navigating the weight of remembrance and displacement. Through multimedia installations–including ceramic, and glass fused decals, graphite drawings, and paintings– the work draws from archival photographs, traditional artesanías, and deep emotional gestures. Together, these pieces create a narrative grounded in heartbreak and grief, nostalgia and peace, offering a personal interpretation of displacement and separation from the artist’s home in Guadalajara.

What grows with the artist is not kept but shared. In this exhibition, artist B Colleen moves between an equally vivid dream state and coexisting reality where lavender stems and blooms as a constant source of calm.

What is left behind

The Frank Ratchye Project Space is pleased to present What is Left Behind, a solo exhibition by Root Division Studio Artist Alumni Edy Cahueque.

What is Left Behind centers the lived experiences of immigrants who work blue-collar jobs and whose labor fundamentally shapes society yet often remains overlooked. Using materials related to blue-collar work such as tile, drywall, and plywood, Cahueque uses this canvas to honor the craftsmanship and resilience carried throughout the everyday lives of these workers. With ongoing ICE raids, heightened surveillance, and the use of racial profiling to target communities of color, Cahueque brings attention to the humanity and vulnerability of immigrant and Latinx communities. This body of work encourages viewers to confront what is left behind when individuals are taken, and to reflect on the sacrifices endured and the persistent strength sustained despite it all.
