Ana Bedolla

Ana began her Root Division journey in 2010 as the first Latinx Teaching Artist Fellow and later became a studio artist. A Mexican-born, Oakland-based artist, she is co-director of the Aguas Migrantes Artist Residency (AMAR) in La Loma, Guanajuato, Mexico. Founded in 2016 by two former Latinx Teaching Artist Fellows, the residency welcomed Ana as an inaugural resident; in 2017 she became a member, advancing its mission of cross-cultural artistic exchange. She holds a BFA in Sculpture from Academy of Art University. Her multidisciplinary practice blends book arts and mixed-media installations, drawing on her cultural heritage and deep connection to nature. She also leads bookbinding workshops across the Bay Area and Mexico, fostering creative exchange.
