Michael is an artist and educator with a background in facilitating workshops and trainings, developing arts curriculum, and bringing people together through creative expression. Michael joins the team from Rhode Island, where he received a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University and worked as the Program Director for an expressive arts organization that brings healing arts to people around the country. As the Education Programs Manager at Root Division, Michael will manage the youth and adult education programs both in the studio and out in the community, helping our studio artists develop their teaching practices and connecting artists with students of all ages to create opportunities for creative learning and exploration. Michael is passionate about creating safe spaces for sharing and self-expression, and making art an accessible and central part of community life.
