Devyn Passaretti is a multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer based in San Francisco, California. Born in Rhode Island by the water, nature and the ocean have deeply influenced her work and way of life. She earned her BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University and continues her studies in fine art and art history through workshops in Florence, Italy with long-time mentors. Working primarily in oil paint and oil pastel, Devyn’s practice explores the theme of interconnection. Devyn’s work has been exhibited throughout San Francisco, as well as in Tlalpan, Mexico City. Across her fine art practice, she brings a meditative presence and sense of devotion, creating work that celebrates connection and the quiet strength found in togetherness.
My work explores interconnection and the support that emerges through relationships between people, families, and the natural world. I look to redwoods as teachers of resilience and collective healing. Their shared roots and ability to protect one another inspired the interconnected forms within my paintings and drawings. I work primarily in oil and oil pastel, layering vibrant colors that echo breath, warmth, and embrace. Each piece is inspired by a personal relationship in my life. This work is grounded in a belief that connection is a form of resistance. In a time of rising division, forced separation, and environmental destruction, community becomes a revolutionary act. Relationships, both human and ecological, offer a path forward. There is power in interdependence, in gratitude, in caring for one another and for the planet.
