Aambr Newsome is an Oakland based Visual Artist, Illustrator, and Muralist from Sacramento, California.Her work specializes in reshaping and curating a new African American experience by exploring and shifting Black History through the lense of Art Therapy.
Artist Statement
Guided by her Ancestors, she explores, uncovers, and apotheosizes the unspoken narratives of African, Black, and Indigenous people. The genesis of her work, arrives in retelling stolen myths and silenced stories, investigating communal erasures, and sharing hopeful triumphs that transmute harm and uplift joy.
