Amy Cancelmo


Amy Cancelmo received her MA in Queer Art History from San Francisco State University in 2011 and a BFA in painting from Syracuse University in 2004. Her curatorial project Strange Bedfellows, explored collaborative practice in queer art making, and traveled nationally from 2013-2015 at venues including: Root Division (National Queer Arts Festival), Bucknell University, Columbia College Chicago (sponsored exhibition of the Queer Caucus for the Arts at CAA), Ithaca College, and Florida International University.

In 2016, Cancelmo collaborated with artist billy ocallaghan on ISO (In Search Of) Queer Gods, featuring artists who mine historical religious iconography and responds to diverse representations of homosexual, transgender and non-binary content that has been preserved through the mythology of world religion.
