Bio
Chad Abbley, a painter from San Bernardino, California, now based in San Francisco. Abbley's artistic journey began in his teenage years with graffiti, a pastime he shared with friends. His work has since been exhibited in galleries in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Featured venues include SOMArts, Bass & Reiner, 13 Monroe Street NYC, and The Wall Gallery in Brooklyn.
Artist Statement
Chad Abbley investigates how overstimulation affects perception. Using paint, industrial materials, and physical light sources, he creates work where the commonplace becomes strange through exposure. Each piece maps the gap between what eyes register and minds process.
