Nathalie O’Brien was born in San Francisco, CA in 1997. She is a figurative painter based in the Bay Area. She received a BA with a concentration in Studio Art from San Francisco State University in 2020.
Artist Statement
Nathalie O’Brien’s current body of work is about identity related to possessions, home and ancestry. She uses a mixture of figurative and still life painting techniques to explore these subjects. Her creative process varies, ranging from creating collages in her sketchbook for her figurative paintings to taking pictures of her possessions for her still life paintings.
