Contemporary Comics
This course encourages investigation of the relationships between images, text, story, and the comic book as an art object. In four weeks, students will create three mini comics and study many examples of contemporary comics. Group critiques, analysis of narrative structures, and exercises in juxtaposing imagery will give students a deeper understanding of how to use drawings to communicate stories and ideas. Some basic supplies are included in the course fee, however an additional materials list will be provided upon registration.
