Comics & Graphic Novels
This four-session course encourages investigation of the relationships between images, text, story, and the comic book as an art object. Group critiques, analyzation of narrative art forms, and exercises in juxtaposing and abstracting imagery will support students' understanding of comics and graphic novels. By the end of the course, each student will have created two mini comics and a longer, autobiographical comic and will have a deeper understanding of how to use their drawings to communicate stories and ideas. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
