Intro to China Painting
This class is an introduction to china painting, the fun technique of painting on porcelain. In this class we will learn to mix powdered pigment with an oil medium to create images and designs on ceramic. Students will be provided with tiles to practice on, and are also encouraged to bring in found ceramic objects to decorate. Student work will then be fired in a kiln. This workshop is ideal for painters, ceramists, or anyone looking to explore painting on ceramic objects. From tiles, vases, plates, cups, bowls to toilets – if it’s made of ceramic, it can be china painted on!
