FALL 2016 – The Art of Packing & Displaying Your Work

Venue: 1131 Mission Street

The Art of Packing & Displaying Your Work

Come learn the basics of handling and installing art. Whether you're an artist, curator, or aspiring preparator, this workshop will provide you with an introduction to best practices in packing, handling, mounting, and displaying 2 and 3D artworks. Led by a professional gallery and museum preparator, this introductory course offers hands-on experience and training in the measurement and mathematics skills, hardware selection, and tool training necessary for art gallery quality installation and art handling practices.

COVID UPDATE

In response to the current COVID-19 situation, we require that all persons continue to wear masks at all times when in the Root Division space. For the safety of our students, artists, and extended community, we also require all students to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or same-day negative test results) for entry to classes held indoors at Root Division.

You may bring a physical copy of your vaccination card or via digital download through the State of California Digital Vaccine Record Portal here. (You may also provide a negative test result taken before each class session. Please contact us with any questions about the types of test results accepted.)

We ask this as a show of community care and a move towards continued safety while gathering in-person.
