In these two two-session in-person class you will learn how to mix plaster to create a one-part silicone-putty mold of a polymer clay sculpture you create during class! We will cover an introduction to clay molding, plaster-to-water ratios, mold release, undercuts, and capturing texture. Cast multiple replicas of your original clay piece using plaster. When your plaster sculptures are finished drying, you will be provided acrylic paint to give them a bit of color. No previous mold-making, casting, ceramic, or painting experience is necessary! Some basic supplies are included in the course fee, however, an additional materials list will be provided upon registration. Please note: This class will occur in person at Root Division, located at 1131 Mission Street in SF. There will be no class on February 28.
