Creating great work but have no idea how to get it out of your studio? Networking Out of The Studio is a two-hour workshop that will provide you with a roadmap to explore your local, national, and international art ecosystem. We will focus on opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area considering beginner steps and how to pursue contacts formed already. However, we will also spend a considerable amount of time considering the role of Los Angeles and New York in the art scene and how they can play a role in your career as an artist. Having spent the past three years networking in Los Angeles and New York with studios in each, speaker Beth Waldman will bring her own experience of recent times to this workshop and help you navigate your unique situation. Please note: this class will take place remotely through Zoom.
About Your Instructor: Interdisciplinary Artist, Independent Curator, and currently Associate Director of Career Development at California College of The Arts, Beth Waldman brings her personal and academic experience to this workshop for visual artists. Beth earned her 1st degree in art history and studio art from Wellesley College and continued her education with a conceptual focus at SFAI with a BFA in sculpture. She has been a resident of the SF Bay Area since 1997 and currently serves on the Board of PhotoAlliance. While Beth’s home and primary studio have been in the San Francisco Bay Area, over the past three-plus years she has expanded her practice with additional studios in Los Angeles and New York’s Hudson Valley in Kingston, NY resulting in a growing art community and several exhibitions. She is happy to bring her techniques and skills to this workshop to help you get out of your studio and create valuable relationships within your own communities.
