SU 2019 – Teaching Art to Adults

Venue: 1131 Mission Street

Teaching Art to Adults

Working with adults is the most rewarding and challenging teaching you will ever do. This workshop outlines some basics of preparing and teaching adult education courses. We will discuss a number of practical topics, including how to write your syllabus, creating materials lists, and how to handle a classroom containing both beginners and advanced students. Together we will write blurbs for the most interesting classes we would like to teach and discuss student expectations and goal setting. Each participant will leave with tools for writing a successful class proposal and syllabus as well as online resources for further study.
