Root Division Teaching Fellows 2026-2027

The Frank-Ratchye Project Space presents Teaching Fellows 2026–2027, an exhibition introducing the newest cohort of Root Division Teaching Fellows. This presentation offers an early glimpse into the ideas, materials, and lines of inquiry that will shape each artist’s practice over the coming year. Rooted in the belief that artistic research and community engagement are mutually enriching, the Teaching Fellowship creates a framework in which creative practice extends beyond the studio and into the relationships artists build through teaching and collaboration.

Each artist began their fellowship in July 2026 and will continue through July 2027, developing an independent studio practice while contributing to Root Division’s mission of expanding access to the visual arts. As Teaching Fellows, the artists provide free visual arts instruction at partner schools and community sites throughout the Bay Area, where their roles as art educators and practitioners continually inform one another. The exchange between making, learning, and community becomes an integral part of their artistic process.

ABOUT THE FRANK-RATCHYE PROJECT SPACE

The Frank-Ratchye Studio Project Space is an exhibition venue dedicated to the work of Root Division’s Studio Artists and Fellows. Situated within Root Division, it provides a space for artists to share their work and engage in dialogue with one another and the public. The Project Space is free and open to visitors during regular gallery hours alongside Root Division’s current Main Gallery exhibition.
