Anisa Esmail is a versatile artist, culture writer, fashion designer, and Marketing Coordinator at Root Division. She previously led PR initiatives at the de Young and Legion of Honor, supporting exhibitions like The de Young Open 2023, Lee Mingwei: Rituals of Care, and the de Youngsters Day Out 2024 fundraiser, which doubled funds for the Equity School Partnership Program. A first-generation South Asian, Iranian, and Egyptian American, Anisa explores cultural identity through her paintings, exhibited at Southern Exposure, Minnesota Street Project, and Root Division. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Fashion Design at Academy of Art University and is passionate about uplifting the local arts ecosystem through cultural equity and community representation.
