My work serves as a visual journal for my internal monologue and musings. I use a variety of media to reflect on transience, displacement, and class systems. Coming from a family of immigrants, I’m interested in exploring American identity and the complicated, problematic inheritance that comes with American nationality. The work I make is autobiographical and political, and is essential to my role as an activist and an educator. My teaching philosophy focuses on the overlap between education and art as an opportunity to form a critical lens, foster creative community, and promote empathy.
