2nd Saturday March 2022: A Between

Join us this March for A Between, curated by MUZ. This exhibition explores how environments shape the perceptions and positions that guide ideas of self, connection to others, and collective activity. As we increasingly enter into each other’s homes and private lives through virtual realms, the boundaries between public and private have disintegrated and compressed. Many artists within the exhibition work to carve out digital and virtual spaces that connect disparate environments or familial pasts, while others recall distant memories, or examine the conditions of survival.

Through vast and varied explorations of physical, religious/spiritual, emotional, and subconscious spaces, artists in this show examine how the places we inhabit frame the perceptions and positions that guide ideas of self, connection to others, and collective activity. We shape the spaces around us while they simultaneously shape us.

We can't wait to see you at our March 2nd Saturday event!

A Between will be on view in the Root Division Gallery (by appt.) or online in our Square Store from February 24 – March 23, 2022. Learn more & RSVP here.

As we transition back into in-person events, our 2nd Saturday reception will be open for a limited number of guests*, so we request that you RSVP in advance. We're excited to see you in person!

* In response to updates to San Francisco’s “Safer Return Together” City Health Order, we will require all guests (over age 12) to bring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry into this event.

We ask this as a show of community care and a move towards continued safety at our in-person events. You may bring a physical copy of your vaccination card or via digital download through the State of California Digital Vaccine Record Portal here

For the safety of our extended community, we also ask that you continue to wear a mask when in the Root Division space and please only bring along guests that have also RSVP’d for the event
