Laura Sanford: Creature Feast: Table for One

The Frank Ratchye Project Space presents Creature Feast: Table for One by Root Division studio artist Laura Sanford. In this mixed media installation, Sanford depicts different animals and organs to create a metaphorical self-portrait. This part-sculptural, part-illustrative collection of work invites viewers to participate in Sanford’s definition of herself in this unique space and experience.

Creature Feast: Table for One exemplifies Sanford’s interest in combining the grotesque and absurd with whimsy and familiarity. By playing with space, beadwork, soft-sculpture, and illustration, Laura Sanford is able to create experiences that remind us of the wondrous strangeness that surrounds us.

Creature Feast: Table for One will be on view in the Frank Ratchye Project Space from December 1- 22, 2021.
